Turkey Burger Sliders with Special mustard Sauce

This recipe has become a favorite in our house!
We have had for 2 weeks in a row.
(mainly bc we have a ton of ground turkey meat in the freezer we need to use, but also bc they are surprisingly delicious and a huge hit last week!)

Ingredients

2 lbs Ground Turkey Meat
Package of slider buns or just regular rolls
1 egg
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon Garlic Salt
Pepper
butter or spray butter
sliced American cheese
1/2 Medium Onion Chopped

 Sauce Ingredients:
3 tablespoon mustard
3 tablespoon softened butter
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt

Put Turkey meat, egg, bread crumbs, approx 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce (  more or less to taste), garlic salt( more or less to taste) and a couple grinds of pepper all into a bowl and mix up, Easiest to do with your hands. Don't forget to wash your hands before touching anything else!

Get ice cream scoop and scoop out turkey meat blend and then pat into patties until you have approx 10 burgers. (12 if you make them thin)  I use a grill pan to cook them. I'm sure a  regular grill or a regular pan or skillet would work great too. Cook them on Med/High heat,  flipping twice until they are fully cooked.

While cooking turkey meat start cooking up the chopped onions.  Get a small fry pan and put a tablespoon of Butter and onions into pan on med/high heat. cook and stir onions until translucent or even caramelized!. MMmmmmmm.

When you are done cooking all of the turkey patties, spray a little spray butter on the inside of Slider Buns and put them on pan to toast a little!

For Mustard Sauce: Mix all ingredients together. Ooooooh,  Such a secret!

Ok, This is how you stack your burger:
Spread a little mustard sauce on the bottom of the bun.
Then put Grilled Turkey Patty on top of Bun.
put a spoonful of onions on top of Patty
then put cheese on top of Onions.(cheese stops onions from sliding off)
Spread more mustard sauce on top bun and then put on top to finish sandwich!

I zap in microwave just a tad to melt the cheese, And Wha La, Time to Eat!!

These little burgers are scrumptious!! They remind me of Krystal burgers only instead made with quality ingredients.
I know it does sound like it has a lot of butter, but 3 tablespoons divided among 10 burgers actually isn't that much! So, for the most part, this recipe is fairly healthy!

Maybe add some Oven fries or Sweet potato fries and ENJOY!!!

PS. They store well! We have been eating left overs all week and they might even be better than they were fresh.

The Best French Onion Soup!

Its getting cool outside, SO, its SOUP TIME!
French Onion Soup is a favorite of mine and also can be a healthy dinner!

This recipe I pretty much made up, But adapted a few moves and Ingredients from good ole Tyler Florence!

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter- real butter
1 large Sweet Onion sliced thinly
2 garlic cloves
1 bay leaf
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 cans Campbell's French Onion Soup (or 2 cans beef broth, I used the soup bc thats what i had and its pretty bland alone, I always doctor it)
1 can Beef Consomme
1 to 1.5 cups chicken broth (beef is fine too, Which ever you have)
salt and pepper
1 1/2 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 cup white or red wine (I used Relax Reisling bc thats what I had in the house, Use what you like)
French Bread
Provolone Cheese (sliced)
"I cant believe its not butter" spray

Start by melting butter on Medium heat in a pretty big pot, then put in sliced onions, garlic, bay leaf, thyme, and salt and pepper. Cook onions while stirring every so often until they are all brown, No white or yellow left at all. They will be alot smaller.  This will take about 25 minutes. After they are all caramelized and browned, pour in Wine and bring to boil, reduce to simmer and cook down untill all of liquid has evaporated and onions are all thats left (there will be a little starchy mush left around them.) (about 10 minutes) Remove Bay Leaf.  Turn heat to low and Sprinkle flour over onions and Mix- cook about 7 minutes to cook out raw flour taste.  Pour in Beef Consomme and scrape off any thing stuck to bottom of pan, Those scrapings have TONS of flavor! Turn heat up to medium and pour in French Onion Soup Cans and Chicken Broth. Bring to simmer and then turn heat to low.  Ladle into Oven Safe Soup Bowls.

Slice french bread into 1/2'' to 3/4" slices. Toast a couple pieces ( I just stick in my toaster on medium). Put Toast on top of Soup in bowls,  put slices of provolone on top and then spray with butter spray. Put Soup bowls on cookie sheet and place on center rack in Oven. Broil on Hi untill cheese is bubbly! Be careful when taking it out and even eating it, because it will be HOT!!

It makes about 5-6 servings. Totally YUMMY.I might even double recipe next time bc It went quick! Kevin gives 2 thumbs up and I agree! Perfect soup for that fall day to keep you warm or if you are in a FRENCH mood!

Begin!

Ok, All of you who follow me on my other blog understand my grammar and spellings rules. I don't use them. So bare with me. But, I'm starting this blog bc I thought It would be a good way to document some yummy recipes that I make for me, my hubby and guests! If anyone knows me correctly knows that when i go to a restaurant when I place my order, I always tweak the meal a tad bit, to fit my likes. Therefore, When I cook, I do the same. My husband, Kevin, and I enjoy cooking, and really enjoy enjoy eating. Cooking is a passion that started for me when I got married 3 years ago. Kevin has always loved cooking and I think I caught on when I moved in with him and  all of his professional cooking gear. Food Network became a staple in my life, And this may explain a little of the 600lbs I've gained since this cooking adventure began! Never trust a skinny chef! But, because we enjoy the cooking and the eating, we are always dieting. (mentally at least). So,  I will try to use lower cal options when making a few of the recipes, and sometimes I will probably make it more fattening. I will alter recipes from others and I will also sometimes make my own up! I will also try to take pics when I remember!! YUM!! Hope you enjoy!!! Bon Appetit!!
